Essex Wheelie Clean Charity Day:
all proceeds to Great Ormond Street Hospital
As a result of the friendly and open way in which we, at Wheelie Clean, operate, we came across a particular customer whose story moved us so much we wanted to help... and we decided to pledge a whole day's proceeds.
The Story:
Alfie is a little boy who needs 24/7 intensive care. His Mum told us:
“Alfie has had 7 strokes and requires 7 drugs every day as well as
being fed through a tube during the day and while he is asleep.”
Alfie is at risk of losing his life at any moment. His Mum has to balance her
working life with being the main carer for her child. Alfie enjoys school but
is on a constant alert in case his health suddenly deteriorates.
Wheelie Clean staff all decided to give a day of their work to a charity supporting
children's health - Great Ormond Street Hospital.
On Saturday 8th March 2008, from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm, we clean wheelie bins free of
charge, asking in return for a donation for Great Ormond Street hospsital.
We were very proud to help!
